| Often, there is a keyboard layout that you would like to use,
but it’s not quite what you want. What you want to do is to modify
that one. To do this, you do the following: 1. Choose “New Based On…” from the File menu. 2. In the open file dialog that appears, choose the keyboard layout you want to modify. 3. You now have a copy of the keyboard layout that you can modify as you wish and save where it is appropriate. Note that on the disk image Ukelele comes on, there is a folder full of keyboard layouts, most of them based on Apple’s keyboard layouts from Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) — the format was changed in 10.5 (Leopard), so those have not been converted. |
